Congratulations to Dr. Agustín Mihi on EIC Pathfinder Challenge Award

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Agustín Mihi, principal investigator in Nanopto, has been awarded the prestigious European Innovation Council (EIC) Pathfinder Challenge, Chiral Light Emitting Diodes based in Photonic Architectures – RADIANT, in the HORIZON 2023 call. This significant achievement is a testament to Dr. Mihi’s dedication to pioneering research and innovation.

The EIC Pathfinder Challenge, RADIANT, is a groundbreaking project that aims to revolutionize the production of high-performing and cost-efficient chiral Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). By harnessing the optical properties of scalable chiral metasurfaces, the project seeks to endow three distinct technologies—Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs), Perovskite LEDs (PeLEDs), and Quantum Dot LEDs (QdotLEDs)—with exceptional brightness and remarkable degrees of circular polarization.

As the coordinator of the RADIANT project, Dr. Mihi will lead a collaborative research effort, bringing together experts from various fields to achieve this transformative mission. The project involves a diverse team of researchers from Spain, Sweden, Italy, and a Spanish SME, including:
– Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (coordinator, Spain)
– Universidad de Vigo (Spain)
– Lunds Universiteit (Sweden)
– Universitat Jaume I de Castellón (Spain)
– Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (Italy)
– Zirka Innotech SL (SME, Spain)

The HORIZON-2023-EIC-Pathfinder call was highly competitive, typical for the EIC calls, which are designed to support high-risk, high-gain research and innovation projects. The EIC Pathfinder program is known for its focus on bold ideas and cutting-edge science, and the high level of competition reflects the strong interest in these types of projects.

We wish Dr. Mihi and the entire RADIANT team all the best in their endeavors!
