Title: “Conjugated Materials for Thermoelectrics and Photovoltaics”
Date: Thursday 8th June
Time: 11:00 am
Place: Sala d’Actes Carles Miravitlles – ICMAB
Abstract: This thesis explores ways of how interactions between organic materials can be exploited to obtain additional functionality in a simple manner, without the need for complex processing. The work focuses on materials such as conjugated polymers and carbon nanotubes, and simple solution-based deposition methods such as blade coating. The obtained results include the development of a process that allows to tune the majority carrier type in organic thermoelectric materials, and the application of spherical crystalline superstructures of semiconducting polymers as intrinsic polarization sensors.
