Juan Luis Garcia-Pomar et al. wrote for Opt. Pura Apl. by the International Year of Light 2015 an educational project based on a laser source and a water drop that acts as a simple microscope with more than 1000X. This system can be useful to stablish refraction concepts, the characteristics of a simple microscope, as well as the microorganism observation in water samples for the evaluation of ecosystems.
